Though these chows are being helped thks to volunteers and others having worked countless hrs, it is just so heartbreaking to think abt the misery life they’ve had before. Fingers crossed the rehoming is a success.

It was my plan to enter Kef to two shows in September. Cut it down to one and sent a donation instead.

Now a member of this project too. Payday/Paypal – I haven’t got much but a little. I hope it will help and that more people will give just a little to help these members of our beloved breed.
Thanks Sandra for letting us be able to help where it’s so much needed by being there for these Chows and putting up a big work making us all aware of the distress that these poor Chows are in.

A quick update!!! We are over the 1000.00 mark of the 4000.00 we need to pay the vet bills for the Lancaster Chows!!! THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!!!! Connie, thank you so much for your comments. Dog hoarding is a very sad and not so uncommon occurence and the double edge sword it creates between the love for animals and getting in over one’s head is a big reality in rescue circles

This is one of my favorite articles on the subject even though I am not personally a fan of HSUS….the article does a good job of explaining the need for rehabilitation for the person who has collected to the point of neglect……. as well as rehab for the unfortunate animals involved.

Over 4 years ago, I unexpectedly lost my female chow of 12 years to a stroke My first response was to try a local rescue. I contacted the individual ( the chow hoarder ) repeatedly over a 4 week period as they had a beautiful chow female who I felt would be a good fit w/my male. I never heard a word, and believe me I called and left numerous voicemails, so obviously the individual was hoarding chows several years ago. In May I was outlet shopping in Lancaster and passed the humane Society there. They had a large sign that said Chow Time, so I had to stop. The dogs they had were just lovely. Kudos to all the people who spent so much time grooming them. I am still interested in adding to my Chow family, does anyone on the website know where I may find more info on the dogs. I will definitely be donating $$$ come payday.

Well i’m very impressed ! this volunteers are amazing ! I’m going to buy presents for my family on the website and i hope that it will help ! ’cause in this hard time is difficult to donate!
Anyway, volunteers are doing a great job and chows need people like them ! like us !
Hope one day this 92 chows find a home ! ! ! many hug !
